The Hotel Jadran was a historic hotel located in the coastal town of Ulcinj, Montenegro. The hotel has been an important landmark in the town since its construction in 1938, during the period of Yugoslavia.

In Ulcinj, on the Suka peninsula, in 1938, the so-called the state hotel of Zetska banovina – or Banovinski hotel for short, was build on the Suka peninsula.

It had 80 beautifully decorated rooms. After the Second World War, this hotel was named “Jadran”.

History testifies that modern tourism in Ulcinj began precisely with the construction of the “Jadran” hotel 85 years ago.

At the time of its construction, the hotel was the largest and most luxurious hotel on the Montenegrin coast, and quickly became a popular destination for tourists from all over Europe.

Over the years, the Hotel Jadran has undergone several renovations and modernizations, but has managed to maintain its original charm and character,

Until the morning of April 15, when a strong earthquake of magnitude 7 on the Richter scale occurred at 7:30 a.m, 1979, and the Hotel Jadran (Adriatic), a symbol of Ulcinj, ended its glory in 10 seconds and was razed to the ground.

Exactly 44 years of inaction by the state have passed and now thanks to only one person, Prime Minister of Montenegro Dritan Abazovic, Hotel Jadran will be replaced by a luxury 5-star hotel, as we have insider information with the world-famous Hilton Hotels brand.

The Director of the Public Company for the Management of Maritime Resources Mladen Mikijelj and the owner of the company “Rojal” from Prishtina, Arber Kryeziu, has signed Annex IV of the contract, which will indicate that all the necessary conditions have been created for the valorization of the site of the former hotel “Jadran” in Ulcinj and an investment worth more than 40 million euros.

As noted by the Government, the signed annex will enable the investor to start preparatory works for the construction of a hotel that, with a globally recognized brand, will be one of the most luxurious on the Montenegrin coast.

It seems that a new Jadran hotel is on the horizon, which will start a new era of modern tourism in Ulcinj. It will take a lot of work to build the outdated infrastructure of the city, which depends on the municipality for the continuation of modern luxury tourism.
