Prime Minister Dritan Abazović signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Government, the Municipality of Ulcinj and the Al Šidi Group regarding the possibility of developing a tourist complex on Mavrijan hill in Ulcinj. The goal, he said, is for the municipalities of Bar and Ulcinj to valorize their localities, and to get new jobs.
“This is a great ticket for numerous partners from the Ali Šidi group. Everyone who wants to do fair business is more than welcome in Montenegro. I look forward to successful businessmen who see a chance in the development of our country,” said the Prime Minister after signing the memorandum. He said, among other things, that Montenegro will get a prestigious resort that will have several contents of a touristic and commercial nature.
The idea is to make Mavrijan a new small town. I believe that this is a serious group, with the necessary references for such a project. A business opportunity is opening up for other companies from Saudi Arabia, as well as from other countries,” said Abazović.
The number of citizens from Saudi Arabia and surrounding countries, added the prime minister, is significantly higher than in previous years.
The President of the Municipality of Ulcinj, Omer Bajraktari, announced that today another perspective is opening for that municipality.
“I am sure that we will have one of the biggest investments on the Mavrijan hill, maybe even bigger than Luštica Bay and Portonovi and Porto Montenegro. I am also sure that every investor who has the opportunity to invest will do it in an appropriate way,” he pointed out. Bajraktari.
Suleiman Al Shidi, president of the Al Shidi group, pointed out that he is glad to be in Podgroica today and reminded that the group has been present in the region for 15 years.
“I want to thank the Government of Montenegro for giving us the opportunity to realize a great investment in Mavrijan”, said Al Šida and also thanked Ervin Ibrahinović.
He added that this is a great opportunity for Arab investors in the area of Montenegro.
“We already have a large number of tourists and I hope that after this, investments will follow. I hope that we will realize all the opportunities,” said Al Shidi.
After the signing of such memoranda, investments by Saudi Arabia usually follow with projects such as Porto Montenegro, Lustica Bay and Porto Novi.
This is really another big step forward for Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic, who has done more in one year than the previous government did in 30 years.
Ulcinj is ready to welcome a five star tourist complex on the Mavrijan hill near Valdanos, with capacity to accommodate between 3,000 and 5,000 guests. It is a locality of about half a million square meters, from Kruče to Valdanos.
Hotel Jadran will be replaced by a luxury 5-star hotel, with the world-famous Hilton Hotels brand.
